The laboratory is an independent methodological and educational unit of the Faculty of Geology and teaching and support unit of the Department of Mineralogy, Petrography and Geochemistry. The main tasks of the laboratory are: methodological and educational support of laboratory work on the courses – Mineralogy, Fundamentals of Petrography, Petrography of crystalline rocks, Lithology; conducting lithological studies of sedimentary rocks, making sections of minerals and rocks for further research in laboratory work from other courses; methodological and educational assistance to students and ensuring the conduct of educational and research work in the performance of term papers and dissertations and research work by staff and graduate students of the Department of Mineralogy, Petrography and Geochemistry and other departments of the Faculty of Geology; production of sections and sections for the educational process and scientific work in the grinding workshop, which operates in the structure of the laboratory.
