He was born in Monastyryska (Ternopil region).

He graduated from the Faculty of Geology of Ivan Franko State University of Lviv (1997).

1997–2000 – postgraduate student of the Faculty of Geology of Ivan Franko State University of Lviv.

2000–2002 – junior researcher at the Ivan Franko National University of Lviv

2002 – Assistant Professor of Minerals, Ivan Franko National University of Lviv

2004 – Candidate of Geological Sciences

since 2008 – Associate Professor of Department of Mineral Geology

since 2014 – acting Head of the Department of Mineral Geology

since 2021 – Head of the Department of Mineral Geology and Geophysics
