Scientific interests:

Petroleum geology and geochemistry.

Scientific activities include the identification and investigation of petroleum systems of the Outer Carpathians, the Carpathian Foredeep and the South Western slope of the East European Platform and the study of the processes of generation, migration and accumulation of hydrocarbons.

Scientific and pedagogical activities:

Біографія

Biography:

Born on December 24, 1971 in the village of Kolodentsi, Kamianka-Buzka (Lviv) district, Lviv region. During 1991–1996, she studied at the Geological Faculty of the Ivan Franko Lviv State University (Ivan Franko Lviv National University), speciality “Geochemistry, Mineralogy, Petrology” and received the qualification “Geologist-Geochemist”. From 1997 to 2000, she studied at the postgraduate course at the Institute of Geology and Geochemistry of Fossils of the NAS of Ukraine, speciality “Lithology”.

In 2005, she defended her PhD thesis on the topic “Lithology of Neocomian-Lower Cenomanian autochthonous strata of the Pokuttya-Bukovyna part of the Carpathian Foredeep”, speciality “Lithology”. In 2013, she received the title of Senior Research Fellow, specialty “Lithology”. In 2019, she defended her doctoral dissertation on the topic “Evolution of sedimentary strata of the South Western slope of the East European Platform during the Late Proterozoic-Phanerozoic in connection with their potential oil and gas bearing”, specialty “Geology of Oil and Gas”. In 2021, she received the title of Professor in the specialty of “Earth Sciences”. In 2024, she received the title of Corresponding Member of the NAS of Ukraine in the specialty of “Geology and Geochemistry”.

She has been working at the Institute of Geology and Geochemistry of Combustible Minerals of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine since 2001, where she has worked her way up from a first-category engineer (2001–2005), leading engineer (2006), junior scientist (2006–2007), scientist (2007–2009) to a senior scientist (2009–2019). Since 2019, she has held the position of Head of the Department of Sedimentology of Provinces of Combustible Minerals. Since 2024, she has held the position of Professor of the Department of General and Historical Geology and Paleontology at the Ivan Franko Lviv National University on an external part-time basis.

Participation from 2015 to 2018 in the International Scientific Project: National Science Centre (Poland), No. UMO-2014/15/B/ST10/00131 on research into the origin and migration of oil and gas in the Carpathians together with scientists from the AGH University of Science and Technology, Krakow.

Awards:

2019 – Certificate of the Scientific Research Center of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine and the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine for personal significant achievements in scientific and scientific-organizational work and on the occasion of the Day of Science.

2020 – Lviv Regional Award of the Lviv Regional State Administration for employees of scientific institutions and higher education institutions for significant achievements in the field of natural sciences.
